extends the dynamic range of any image sensor<\/strong> connected to the VI.<\/p>\nUnder certain conditions an entire image, or part of an image, can appear to be just \u2018black\u2019 or noise on a monitor when in fact there may be some important detail present in a very weak signal.<\/p>\nThe VI uses various automatic processes to detect any coherent detail over a number of video frames and then to optimise the display of that detail.
\nTypically, this would be useful in:\n
a) Situations where the ambient light level is below the normal useable range of the video source.<\/p>\n
b) Where dark areas in an image obscure detail of interest (shaded areas, viewing through apertures into structures etc.)<\/p>\n
The VI achieves enhancement<\/strong> by using information over a number of video frames (integration<\/strong>) in addition to a sophisticated auto range<\/strong> control (gain, black and peak white control). Automatic modes can be set to only apply enhancement when necessary so the VI can remain in-line under all conditions.<\/p>\nVarious settings and analysis window positions can be adjusted by the user if required.<\/p>\n
The VI has one video input and one processed video output, plus an integrated picture monitor (separate power switch). Local control is via a tactile rotary switch.<\/p>\n\tVideo Integrator (VI)
